MAFIA & FLUXY

MAFIA & FLUXY

Mafia & Fluxy (brothers Leroy and David Heywood) began their career in 1977 with the North London reggae band The Instigators. Managed by Fat Man Sound System, they toured and recorded with reggae legends including Johnny Osbourne, John Holt, Alton Ellis, Sugar Minott, and many others. In 1987, they launched their own record label, producing leading UK artists such as Tippa Irie, General Levy, and Lloyd Brown.

Their first trip to Jamaica led to collaborations with legendary producers including Bunny Lee, King Jammy, Bobby Digital, and Gussie Clarke. They went on to record and produce major Jamaican artists such as Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Morgan Heritage, and Mad Cobra. By 1992, they were based between the UK and Jamaica, establishing themselves as two of reggae's most respected musicians and producers.

Their work has earned numerous awards and contributed to Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated projects. Today, they continue to perform worldwide through Mafia & Fluxy Sound, showcasing their classic productions, exclusive dubplates, and featuring Japanese saxophonist Megumi Mesaku.
